Slam Dunk Filler List

Want a Filler Free Experience in Slam Dunk?

Fillers can add or remove from the experience, and you may want to know how much of this to expect, so I put together the Slam Dunk Filler list below.

Slam Dunk follows the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a delinquent who is the leader of a gang and has a fierce temper. Unlike some other stories where the bad boy gets the girl, Sakuragi is the exact opposite, being unable to find a girlfriend and being rejected about fifty times.

In his first year in high school, he meets Haruko Akagi and falls for her. Unlike his many approaches in the past, Haruko didn’t reject him and he saw this as a golden opportunity to finally do what has basically been impossible for him, get a girl.

Haruko soon brings up the idea of basketball, asking if he was interested. Sakuragi finds basketball a game for losers and hates it more since a former failed love interest loved the game. However, on a quest to get Haruko to like him, he lies and agrees that he likes the game. She tells him to do a slam dunk for her, which he utterly fails at, but seeing potential in him she invites him to join the Shohoku high school, basketball team. He reluctantly joins and begins a journey that spans 101 episodes of great sports anime content.

Slam Dunk manga created by Takehiko Inoue was published through Shōnen jump and ran from October 1990 to June 1996 with a total of 31 volumes. The anime adaptation ran from October 1993 to March 1996 and has 101 episodes.

Does Slam Dunk Have Any Fillers?

Slam Dunk Filler list-Does it have any fillers

Yeah, Slam Dunk has a good amount of fillers with about 10% of the total episodes considered fillers. With a total of 101 episodes, it is not difficult to rack up some filler episodes, especially since the anime was running at the same time as the manga. And while catch-up is the main reason fillers exist, it is not the only reason Slam Dunk aired a good number of filler episodes.

The filler episodes contain plot elements that are vital to the main story and the overall experience, and while many may want to watch have a filler-free experience and watch what is only adapted from the manga, you would be missing out on some great plot points.
