Charlotte is a Japanese anime television series directed by Yoshiyuki Asai, and produced by P.A Works and Aniplex. It has 13 episodes that aired from July 2015 to September 2015. The story is set in an alternate reality where a comet called Charlotte passes near Earth every 75 years. As it passes it sprays dust upon earth which causes preadolescent children that inhale the dust to develop abilities upon reaching puberty.
It follows Yuu Otasaka, a boy who awakens the ability to possess other people for a short while. He is exposed by Nao Tomori, the student council president of Hoshinoumi Gakuen, a school made for children with such abilities. She forces him to join the school and its student council to help them in protecting children with abilities against people who want to use them for their powers.
