Does Orochimaru Wife Exist?

Who is Orochimaru’s wife? That’s a question that has been asked over and over in the Naruto fandom, especially with the introduction of a character named Mitsuki. Orochimaru is put with the likes of Gaara and Rock Lee-a group of characters who have children, but the women in their lives are shrouded in mystery. We would be looking at Orochimaru and unraveling that mystery.

For true fans of the Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden series like myself, you are most certainly familiar with the character Orochimaru. Some find him creepy, and for some, he makes their list of favorite characters. One thing is certain; that is, Orochimaru was vital in the first part of the Naruto series, where he played the main antagonist.

For those who don’t know Orochimaru, let’s do a little introduction of the character:

Who Is Orochimaru?

Orochimaru plays an antagonistic role in the series until the Fourth Great Ninja War. A rogue ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village (or Konohagakure); Orochimaru made his name while he was still a ninja of the Hidden Leaf. He even went on to become one of the Three Legendary Ninjas of the Hidden Leaf alongside Jiraiya and the fifth Hokage, Tsunade—all of whom he trained with under Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Orochimaru eventually defects the village with the goal of achieving human immortality and goes on to create his own village – the Hidden Sound Village (or Otogakure), where he carries out his inhumane experiments.

Orochimaru is one of the most skilled and versatile shinobi shown to us in the series. A prominent user of forbidden and cursed mark techniques – Kinjutsu and Juinjutsu respectively – amongst other techniques in his arsenal.

Continuing into the sequel series about Naruto’s son, Boruto, we discover that Orochimaru has a son—in fact, two ‘sons’. Both bear the same name, and for the sake of clarity, let’s call the older one, Log and the younger, Mitsuki.

From the basic knowledge we all have about the process of birth, a man and a woman are needed to do so. That brings up the question, with whom did Orochimaru copulate? Whom did he marry? Who is Orochimaru’s wife?

When Sarada asked about his parents, Mitsuki’s answer referred to a ‘parent’. Parent is a singular noun, and in essence, who is Mitsuki’s mother?

Orochimaru married…

Let’s digress a bit and talk about his sons. As stated earlier, Log is the older, and Mitsuki is the younger. Both “sons” are formidable ninjas and skilled in their usage of ninjutsu (ninja techniques) and kenjutsu (sword techniques) for Log.

Log was filled with spite for his ‘father’, Orochimaru, and vowed that he would not allow Orochimaru to bring more like him into the world. In the end, we understand that it was all an act for Mitsuki’s character development.

Yes. Log and Mitsuki were not born the natural way. Both of them were creations of Orochimaru’s long-aged experiments toward gaining immortality. That is to say, both Log, who is the older Mitsuki, and the younger Mitsuki, the one we’d come to know through the Boruto series, are synthetic humans of Orochimaru’s making. They were made from his own genetic template.

Orochimaru, himself, never took any woman to be his wife nor did he copulate with any woman. His ‘children’ were products of genetic cloning.

Orochimaru did not marry, and he does not have a wife.
